Spring Forward

Is everyone like me and missing their extra hour of sleep? It really caught me off guard and took me a few minutes on Sunday morning to figure out that it was actually daylight savings – not just me being extremely sleepy. I love the whole ‘fall back’ aspect of daylight savings; the ‘spring forward’ not so much.

This outfit is a mesh of this. It’s almost complete spring weather (high 70s) with very cold mornings. I love this outfit because it’s really cute and comfortable at the same time. It keeps me warm enough to not be too hot or too cold as the weather changes during the day.

I’m thinking of doing a post on how to grow long and healthy hair. I have so many tips (and family secrets) on how to grow healthy hair super fast. Let me know if you are interested in that.

I love leaving my hair down. It’s naturally straight so it saves me a ton of time when I just leave it down. Since I have super long hair now, I sort of feel like a princess when I leave my hair down.

I’ve been seeing pom tops everywhere! I think it will be a major trend this spring and summer. This black and white off shoulder top with pom detail is a lot more understated than the usual pom top. It’s so comfy and lowkey cute at the same time. I love it and can’t wait to pair it with a pair of high waist shorts.

I had been on the hunt for a truly great pair of over the knee boots (which are reasonably priced) that don’t slouch down. I found that boots with ties in the back like these ones are the best at keeping the boots up. I’ve tried many pairs of over the knee boots and walked around the store with them to only find myself pulling them up every couple of feet. I have relatively skinny legs and I wanted to find a pair that wouldn’t cause me to worry about anything to fall down.

Theses boots are absolutely perfect! They’re reasonably priced and the quality is amazing. I wear them almost every single day and I’ll wear them with spring dresses and summer dresses on cool summer nights.

Sherlock Grey

There’s two more weeks till it’s officially spring. But it looks like no one’s informed my older sister or these trees. We both love this orchard and the meadows too. There is an odd juxtaposition in this week’s outfit though. My outfit is very appropriate for school and very similar to my usual winter to spring transition outfits. I love mixing my warmer clothes and slowly bringing in a lighter style through hairstyles and makeup choices.

This wool blend grey top is deceptively heavy. It photographs as a very light and free material, but in reality … it’s a very thick and warm material. My sister bought this in the winter of 2009. Yes, it is eight years old now! We weren’t joking when we said we rarely throw away clothes.

I pair it with a long sleeve shirt during the really cold days, but just the top alone was more than warm enough for me on this day. It’s a nice warm material – sort of like a cute blanket. I really do feel all wrapped up in this top!

I’ve had these black booties on repeat now. I’m trying to get as much use out of them as possible before it’s too warm to wear them out. I know I’ll try to incorporate them into some night time summer outfits when it’s cool enough to pair them with a light cotton dress. Even though I have a special place in my heart for sandals, booties are admittedly my favorite style of shoes.

The Maroon Letter

Recently, my friend had her quinceañera and I had so much fun. I wanted to wear something that was age appropriate, but more grown up than the usual dresses I own. I went through my sister’s closet and found this maroon lace dress that she got from TJ Maxx a few years ago.

These Valentino inspired heels were on sale when I bought them! It was such a steal and they were comfortable enough that I could spend the whole night dancing.

The sheer lace back on this dress is one of the many reasons I fell in love with it. The detailing on this was fabulous and I paired it with a gold studded rhinestone hair crown for the extra factor.

Floral Winter

It was such a cold day, but I wanted to wear something more spring. This blouse with its floral pattern is definitely something I would wear with a fun skirt and some sandals. I’m not going to lie, but I was sort of freezing after being outside for ten minutes. Not pictured is the huge winter jacket I wore over this.

These ballet flats are the most comfortable ever and literally molds to the shape of your feet. I was so happy to find a darker nude ballet flat since I have a darker complexion than the industry nude tone.

I’ve recently found a fascination for chokers and this soft pink lace one is perfect to offset the deep v of the blouse. It also compliments the lines in the front and the back of the top. Another thing I like about this choker is that its not extremely snug like a lot of the chokers I own.
