It’s the last days of spring and the weather is quickly warming up here in Southern California. We had temperatures in the high eighties and I’m going to have to pack away my sweaters soon. If I could spend all day in sweaters, I would. I just find them to be so comfortable and I wanted to show with this look that it’s possible to dress up a plain sweater.
I got this grey cashmere sweater during Black Friday and it was such a steal. I always had a dream of owning a cashmere sweater someday because you know – it seemed like such a grown up thing. I waited till Black Friday and I had bookmarked a few cashmere sweaters before hand to see which one would be the cheapest.
This sweater is unbelievably soft. So soft that I ended up buying a black button down cashmere cardigan from the same brand. I know for sure that I’ll be picking up the same sweater in a few other colors during the next Black Friday!
If I had to pick my favorite piece of jewelry that I bought for myself, it would be this blue necklace. I got this as an impulse buy nearly a decade ago. If I remember correctly, it was ridiculously cheap and I didn’t expect for it to hold together this long. I love everything about this necklace – the gold details, blue beads, and especially the silk at the back. I’ve searched for something similar to this for years, but sadly – it hasn’t happened. That doesn’t mean I’ve given up though.

The closest I’ll probably ever get to becoming an equestrian are these riding boots. This outfit (which I often wear to school) is one of my go to for a lazy day outfit. It’s so simple/comfy yet so effortlessly fashionable at the same time.
Fact – I love scarves! My sister bought this brightly patterned square scarf at a street fair many years ago. There’s something so diverse about square scarves. If you already don’t own one, I’d strongly recommend buying one. There are so many ways to wear a square scarf. You can wear it like how I’ve worn it – a faux infinity – or just about ten different ways.
These riding boots are currently on clearance – what a steal! Although they belong to my sister, I borrow them enough to consider them my own. They’re incredibly comfortable to walk around all day in and since the weather has been absolutely miserable in Southern California, I’d much rather wear these than the traditional rain boots.

It’s always been a dream of mine to own a really great faux leather jacket. Other than the horrible polyester-ish leather jacket I had as a teen, there was nothing close to a great one in my closet. I knew as soon as I saw this tan one during the annual ModCloth sale that I had to have it.
This jacket was thick enough to keep me warm on a very (California) cold day. The gold detailing is perfectly offset by the detachable multi-print hoodie. I love the fact that this jacket can be worn one of three ways: completely unzipped, completely zipped, or half open with the collars folded down.
I didn’t want to overwhelm this outfit with unnecessary jewelry so I stuck to just a statement ring. Also, you might recognize these booties! They’re my little sisters and I ‘borrowed’ them for the outfit.
